I think I need a full coverage foundation because my skin tone is kind of splotchy, I have dry patches above my eyebrows and nose, and I have oily skin everywhere else. It seems that no matter what brand I buy, it's all 'gone' by the end of the work day. Any suggestions? I look around and it seems like everyone else is still fresh looking at 3pm and I'm all washed out.

I have dry skin and dry patches also above eyebrows and nose, what I do is I put a litte oil-free moisturizer (Neutrogena's tinted is good) and then use Revlon New Complexion compact. It's my favorite so far, considering I've tried many!

I would first go to a dermatologist to see why you have splotchy and dry patches on your skin. You may have rosesea. He may give you medication to clear up this problem. Then when you find out what is wrong, then go to onyasorganics.com. This lady has beautiful organic all natural cosmetics and they are fabulous. Totally pure. You can email her tell her your problems and she will advise what to order. Also go on naturalsolutions.com...excellent cosmetics, creams, cleansers etc. Also if you email them, they will advise you too. What you need to do is even out your skin tone and to do that you need concealer. Go to colormebeautiful.com. I use this product every day and it is fabulous. They sell a concealer wheel with four shades. With those four shades you even out your skin tone. Then you add your foundation over that and then top that with a bareminerals neutral face powder to set the makeup. Then it will stay nice all day. Also you should use a powder blush, little eyeliner, neutral eye shadow, mascara. But carry the blush with you, also peachy/pink lipstick and peachy lip gloss with you and freshen up after lunch...Good Luck P.S. If you want a pure natural face cleanser that won't irritate your skin go to greenridgeherbals.com and they have an organic natural milky cleanser called Face Petals Cleansing Milk that is absolutely fabulous. This you should use everyday and it will never irritate your skin or make you break out. Try it, you will love it.

I agree with Jenyss. I use Bare Esentuals all the time now. You only need a little and it really is magic stuff. Lasts for ages on your skin, or you can take a brush pre-loaded with a little extra for a super-quick re-do. I am a lazy make up wearer, and this suits me completely. It never cakes or looks unnatural either.

Hey there! My name is Tammy, it sounds like you need to care for your skin first before putting your foundation on. In order for your makeup to look great your skin needs to be looked after first...no matter what. Have you ever tried Mary Kay products? If not I can send you some samples in the mail if you'd like.
You can also check out my website at:

I hope that helps!

There's some great foundation by Bare Escentuals called Bare Minerals. It lasts all day and covers up spots and splotches really well. It's available online or at beauty stores like Sephora.

Well, I tried Infallible and it definitely has good coverage and stays on but it seemed to make me break out more(but then I break out anyway). I'm currently using True Match by Loreal, and I prefer it over any I've seen for matching skin tone and for coverage.

don't use so much foundation. apply once in the beginning of the day. and if you go out at night and want to refresh make up clean face first. make up clogs pores and causes those oily spots to increase.

as for the dry spots, try a face lotion might help. I use Clinque.

if your problems persist call a dermatologest

If it's wearing off, you probably need to do a touch up sometime during the day. That's probably what the people who still look "fresh" are doing (either that or they're one of the lucky blessed).

Please dont use a drup store brand, they will make your skin worse, go to like sephora or nordstrom and have them suggest something, (MAC is also horrible for your skin), try like Laura Mericer. She is great and he stuff is soooooo good for you skin!
