Favourite game for my kids: Sparkle!
the kids sit in a circle and you give them a spelling word. The first child says the first letter, the second child the second letter...the nth child the nth letter and the n+1th child says SPARKLE! (while making jazz hands) this is a great game for learning spelling words, the kids always loved it.
For sentence patterns you can play "Grandma's House" You start out by saying "I went to Grandma's house and I brought a *whatever*" the second person says "I went to Grandma's house and I brought a *whatever* and a *whatever*" etc. etc. etc.
I'm not sure if that's what you meant by 'sentence patterns' but it's still a fun game.

I teach French and Spanish to 7th and 8th graders. What works for them may work in your situation. I play this game called typewriter. I give each kid a letter, then I give them the English translation of the vocabulary word I'm looking for, such as escuela. The kids with the letters in the word "escuela" need to go up to the front of the room and arrange themselves in the proper order.
Another good game is to type sentences on a computer, print them out, and cut them up word by word. Put the sentences in an envelope, then have the kids work in partners to arrange them in the right order.
