Just wait until your next appt. I heard the hearbeat during the sonogram at 7 weeks. If you dont hear one next week, he'll talk to you about it. Especially if he doesn't see any growth from this weeks sonogram.

A normal heartbeat at 6-7 weeks would be 90-110 beats per minute. The presence of an embryonic heartbeat is an assuring sign of the health of the pregnancy.

However, if there is no heartbeat, your doctor should do a scan within 3-7 days. It is possible your dates are wrong.

The heart begins to beat between 4 and 5 weeks, it can be detected as early as 5 weeks, but definitely by 8 weeks at the latest with a transvaginal ultrasound. The doctor may be able to pick up the baby on a doppler by about 9-10 weeks, but if you are bigger, it may be a week or 2 later. Using a stethoscope, you might be able to hear the baby's heartbeat from week 18.

I wouldn't worry yet. I've been a Paramedic for 15 years and I can tell you it is very difficult to auscultate a fetal heart beat at such a early gestational period. I'm sure you're baby's heart will be pumping away loud and clear on your next appointment. Congratulations!

They usually can't find it by doppler before 10 weeks.
