Why is the media more accepting of dark skin males then dark skin females?

Question

I can name several darker skin African American actors but I can probably only name one or two dark skin actress. I personally think brown or dark brown women are beautiful like Gabrielle Union, Angela Basset, Jessica White, that model Oluchi from Nigeria. But the ones put on a pedestal as the most beautiful Black women are Halle Berry and Beyonce who are both either mixed or light skin.

Aren't these women beautiful?

The media is controlled and dominated by White people. I think dark women aren't featured as much because we tend to have broader noses, fuller lips which most people perceive as masculine features. I think that Oluchi Onweagba is the perfect example that west African features can be attractive on a woman as well. I think things are changing but like you said the women that are put on the same pedestal as the Caucasian women are lighter skin because that's what they perceive as beautiful.

It does seem that way! I think the least accepted in the media, though, is old white women. Even old African American women gain more respect in the media. Be an old white woman and you are a joke. Real life is like that as well. Talk about minorities!

C'mon..you have have been given Gabrielle Union, Angela Bassett, Vivica Fox, Mo'Nique (who isn't in elementary terms dark yet fat), Nia lengthy (who's attractive), Kenya Moore, Sanaa Latham, Naomi Campbell, Stacey sprint, Whoopi Goldberg, Golden Brooks, Sheryl Lee Ralph and greater yet i'm no longer able to think of. they are no longer making as lots of a buzz as Beyonce at the instant, yet they're making severe income Hollywood.

I don't know, I personally prefer dark skin women like Gabrielle Union over the pale women like Nicole Kidmen.

You kidding? I can name a whole bunch! Pretty white girls are dime a dozen, and actually becoming pretty stale. Media continues to love 'em though. I love black women. I think they have more to offer than just pretty faces, and anorexic bodies like white girls do. Much love for the black women.
