You absolutely cannot and should not leave a ten-year old alone in the hotel. The hotel may have baby-sitting service, and the hospital may also have child care or referals available.
My recommendation would be to hire a sitter from an agency for the time you are here. Your daughter is not a baby, and it would be excellent to have someone who can take her out and about to enjoy some of the sites of the city. It's a beautiful time of year in the city, spring is just beginning and there is a lot to see and do. Even on a budget, it's a great town to just walk around a bit in.
I do live in the city, so if you would like to email me rachelrag@yahoo.com, i might be able to help you more.

Ten years old is too young to have her out of the hotel roaming around. At the same time staying in the hotel for 9 hours with nothing to do is not fair to her either. I would look into getting someone to care for her while you are away, at least that way she can get out of the room and go out and have some fun...

My opinion is that I would not leave my 10 year old daughter alone in Philadelphia. I think it is unlikely that you will find a reputable nanny for $5 per hour. Does she need to come with you?

5 dollars an hour?, are you serious?, I seriously doubt you find anyone at that rate in philidelphia. But you might try a daycare in the area they usually have day rates for kids and i would not advise staying alone at the hotel.

I snipped the suggestions off of all of the binkies (and did not say a phrase). The twins (two yrs historical) requested for his or her binkies at nap time and once they attempted to suck, there used to be no suction (simply air)...They took them out in their mouths threw them at me and stated they had been damaged. I acted amazed and informed them to take a look at once more...they did and stated they had been nonetheless damaged...finish of binkies (no crying!!!) and I wasn't the dangerous man....well success

To be honest with you, I would consider bringing a close friend or family member with to keep an eye on her.
