A friend of mine would tell me to pick any random book out on his shelf, which I would do. Then I would thumb through the pages at random and then I would stop. Then he would have me pick a line on the page (any line) and he would tell me the first word in the sentence. We stood about 10 feet apart and he never got to pick the book, the page or the line. But he did this trick at least twice. For the life of me I can't figure out how he did it! I've looked on the Web, but couldn't find out how he did it. Any help? You can email me if you don't want to broadcast it over Yahoo answers. Thanks.

I think it has something to do with the number of times certain words appear as the first word in a sentence. But I'm not sure. Did you ask him?
