Craig j : I don't remember where, but I've heard that Ronnie Van Zant and Neil Young wasn't enemies and that Van Zandt was buried with a Neil Young T shirt. Rumor?

Ok-put down the Harvest cd and back away slowly-honestly-Harvest is merely the commercial success. Do yourself a favor, and go out and purchase "Everbody Knows This Is Nowhere." "Down by the River" and "Cowgirl in the Sand" are more along the lines of how I would define Young. Back when he was with Buffalo Springfield, he did "Mr. Soul" and "Expecting to Fly." As mentioned above, Rust Never Sleeps" is also a good stepping-stone, especially, "Hey Hey, My My." If you've ever heard "It's better to burn out, then to fade away" it was Neil who first uttered those words. As far as the t-shirt rumor-no evidence of a Neil Young t-shirt was ever found. I think it's safe to say, it's nothing more than a rumor.

Neil Young seems to make timeless albums every ten years or so. Harvest, After the Gold Rush, Rust Never Sleeps and the Live Rust accompanying concert sound, and his 1989 smash Freedom, his best album. He's late with his next supersmash.

neil actually supported george bush in his first election. he switched sides after george got us in the bs war and he stood up against it. neil does not hate americans. he is a dual citizen of US and Canada.
his best live album is rust never sleeps.
the songs
my my hey hey (into the blue) and
hey hey my my (into the black ) are 2 of the greatest songs ever written.
"it's better to burn out because rust never sleeps"
kurt cobain used that quote from hey hey my my in his suicide note. it broke neil's heart.
