dont take it apart just squirt a lil wd-40 in the cracks and wipe clean that should work. I have done that to mine many times

turn the top 1/8 turn. insert flat bladed screwdriver behind a middle cube. pry out gently. It won't hurt it and then it comes apart quite easily.

You don't want to do that! If you take it apart, you'll never get it back together again, believe me, I've tried. Just buy a new one, keep the old one in the best condition you can. If you want to take one apart, do it with the new one.
