Kris Kross
After the release of their debut LP, Totally Krossed Out, in 1991, Chris Kelly and Chris Smith got everyone to wear their clothes backwards. But only for a little while. Then they made their comeback with Young, Rich and Dangerous (1996), although they were neither young, rich, nor dangerous. Whatever happened to them remains a mystery, but be comforted that their producer, Jermaine Dupri, is not doing much either nowadays, and that a fanatic fan has started his own Kris Kross Day, wherein everyone wears their clothes backwards. The last Kris Kross Day managed to turn out a whopping 20 participants, up fourteen people from three years ago. Where's the love? Oh, there it is.
Update: There is simply no update for Kris Kross, so we can safely assume that they have gone on with their lives for good. Sony Music still keeps their site very much alive, although it's very ugly and hasn't been changed in about ten years. Supposedly, they have been listed somewhere in the top 100 in VH1's "Greatest Kid Stars," although I couldn't corroborate this claim as VH1's website only lists the top 20 (and they're not in there).
Further Update: Kris Kross is listed on the Internet Movie Database as having a role in the 1993 comedy Who's The Man?, directed by Ted Demme and starring Ed Lover and Dr. Dre. However, under "Kris Kross filmography," both are listed as playing "Karim" in the film, which remains a mystery since there are two of them, and purportedly only one Karim. Unless they're both named Karim. Then it totally makes sense.

Mack Daddy and Daddy Mack. They were a vision of what was to come, the primordial ooze that would later spawn evolutionary abominations like Lil’ Bow Wow and Lil’ Romeo.
Rapping and busting moves, mainly of the jumping up and down variety, they could make even the most clueless kids cool. All you had to do was put that lumberjack plaid shirt on backwards, braid your hair and “Jump” when Mack Daddy or Daddy Mack told you to. Even those too young to remember have heard the hallowed chorus echo around the room during a rerun of In Living Colour or a night of old VH1 specials. Don’t you remember Kris Kross?
Founded back in 1991, Chris Kelly and Chris Smith were just two bored 13-year-olds hanging out at the mall until they were spotted by rap producer Jermaine Dupri. Dupri saw some talent — or at least a quick buck — in the two young Atlanta boys, and he took advantage of that youthful exuberance. One year later, they were packaged and ready to sell, under the witty namesake Kris Kross.
With its debut album, Totally Krossed Out, Kris Kross exploded across North America with a single that got everyone out of their chairs: the undeniably catchy “Jump!” The song remained number one on the Billboard charts for eight weeks. The album sold four million copies and can still likely be found in many suburban CD racks.
There were other singles that did fairly well, too, like “Totally Krossed Out” and “Missed the Bus.” These tackled serious issues that everyone could relate to. Who hasn’t missed the bus, besides the spoiled brats who got a ride to school everyday? Even those kids were smart enough to wear their clothes backwards.
So what happened to these two minuscule MCs? Where are Mack Daddy and Daddy Mack now?
After the explosion of Totally Krossed Out, Kris Kross seemed to fizzle out of existence. Although it released a couple more albums, it never again graced the radio waves or television screens to the same extent it did in 1992. Since their last album, Young, Rich and Dangerous, was released in 1996, Smith and Kelly have remained rather quiet, staying out of the public eye and out of the drugs.
It’s sad to see such a hyped act move on so well from the inevitable slump after its first big smash. Where are the drug busts by the LAPD? The coke-smeared faces in mug shots? The drunken groping of random women?
Instead, the boys of Kris Kross have lived normal lives, walking around amongst ordinary people and keeping quiet. Though, they’re still probably seething on the inside since the day Dupri dumped them like a lover with an STD.
However, their rabid fans — or more likely fan — have started National Kris Kross Day in homage to these pint-sized heroes. It is a day of celebration on March 20, where clothes are worn backwards and “Jump!” is played from the rooftops. This year, the tally of participants was 20, a 14-person jump from three years ago.
And so the legend lives on. Hopefully it’ll keep growing, so everyone can enjoy the uncomfortable situation of bathroom breaks with backwards pants, just like Mack Daddy and Daddy Mack did way back in the day.
not much information out there of what they are doing today.

Good question. Bow Wow was a teen rapper and he turned 20 a few days ago and is doing well as an adult entertainer. A few years ago, I heard that the one had a drug problem and the other had leukaemia. I'm not sure what there doing today. I guess they decided that biz wasn't for them anymore.
