i just bought a dvd but i don't know anything abt ww 2 except that it was nazis vs the other countries. So do u think that i should first learn somethings and get some info abt the war or do u think that i'll get what's going on in the film?

You wont need to know anything about WWII or the Nazi's to understand this film. As a Spielberg film, it is, as you would expect, beautifully done. I'm not generally a fan of "war movies" but this is not a war movie. It's about human compassion. I have to say, it is a very compelling movie. It shows humanity at it's worst and shows that one man can make a difference. I think it also gives you a little perspective for your own life, as far as our western civilisation goes. It's not a gruesome or bloody film but it is very heart-wrenching. It's a film which I think, has the ability to raise an individuals level of consciousness and compassion. Many films get release with a lot of hype. This one, I think deserved it.

Wow do you need to take history. I havn't seen the movie, but like you I just bought it for like $4 and im going to watch it soon. World War 2 is like THE war. You really need to learn about it. Try also watching Band of Brothers and Saving Private Ryan for starters.

It's an excellent film and all you need to know, history-wise, is that the Nazis went after the Jews with the intention of exterminating them. Yes, watch it.

it's less about nazis vs other countries than it is what hte nazis did inside their own occupied territories.
It's about Nazi atrocities against Jews and a German man (Schindler) who becomes involved.
And it's a very good movie, even if you don't understand the political background.

Actually, watching it without having a great knowledge of WWII might give you an interesting take. I think it's a great movie by itself, so watch it now.

watch it because its about other peoples lives not yours, and you will always learn something even how evil humans are and can be, we speak of hell and its Creator how ever hells Creator is human we just like to pass the buck on something that does no even exists.
