Gee there's a lot of "detail" supplied in some of these answers, bearing in mind they're all generalisations.

Firstly Virgo's are not vain, they're perfectionists.

I'm a Pisces. Virgo is my opposite sign and they are literally opposite, in general to me. Although in some star sign match ups, opposites may be a bad thing, this is not the case between Virgo and Pisces. Pisces has an admiration for Virgo's organisation, perfection and analytical mind. Virgo has an appreciation for Pisces lack of these things. lol

My daughter's a Virgo. Unfortunately the cleanliness part of the Virgo sign, skipped my daughter but other than that, she's a true Virgo. A perfectionist who loves to be unique but who can also be critical.

Personally and this is just my opinion based on my family and friends who are Virgos, they would be one of the few signs where I would view the men and women as very equal in their traits. Most signs, I find have a vast difference between men and women. eg. I have not met a Taurus woman that I didn't find overbearing and yet I get along very well with Taurus men. That may also be that I have a different expectation from men than women. My character flaw, no one else's. But with Virgos, I don't find this.

In relation to the "bed" scenario, Virgo's understand that sex can be a very spirtual thing. It's not just sex. That's not to say they can't have a one night stand. They sort of put more effort into it and have expectations of the experience. If you want to generalise about the sign, overall I would say that yes, they are very good.

I had a friendship with a virgo female for 10 years..honestly I over looked alot of her BS and thats the only reason we stayed friends so long.

She was a cheater, laughing at you not with you type of girl, manipulative, stubborn,obstinate, dishonest, sneaky, argumentative, basically an unevolved human being, also we had this weird physical attraction towards one another, we were sinked at the hip but we weren't lovers or anything. But in the end she made a pass lmao!! Too weird!!

She was petite, very attractive, beautiful big eyes, beautiful feet and could wear anything and I mean anything and look good.

As I said I overlooked her bad behavior but when it turned on me, I was done with her.

Virgo's are compatible with Gemini's. The men are hard headed yet adventours yet they will get up and go to work. The same for the woman most will have good jobs, but guard against them hating on you, cause they are known to be haters. Yes they are very vain, men and woman, they like nice things. The virgos I've dealt with are very good people but at the same time they can seem to mess with people's head real easy... The virgo sometimes won't give up what they are actually feeling from my experience.... And will to the point lash out in weird ways to keep people away from the true selves I find.

But overall, are people who will give you the world if needed.. and I know a few, and even though the couple I've known have caused me headaches and make me question my sanity with them.. They are good friends who I'd definitely miss if gone...

Virgos are wonderful really, as long as you are wonderful to them!! We are very caring and thoughtful. Respect is a big issue for us, we will give it freely and willingly, as long as we're getting it in return. We have a love for life and for helping others, whether we know them or not. We're fairly straight forward when it comes too how we feel, and sometimes we tend to be a little too blunt, but not because we don't care, because we like to be completely clear about how we feel so there aren't any misunderstandings. We don't much like to repeat ourselves, and if feeling stressed or depressed we tend to go inside ourselves to deal with the issue our way.
As far as faults go - well i don't know if it's a fault really, but if we feel as though someone is trying to get one over on us, or already has, we have a tendency to be deviant.
I don't think we're vain really, just confident.
as far as compatible signs go, well I'll tell you this.........
I'm a Virgo, I spent 7 years with a Virgo and it was a disaster, but according to books it shouldn't have been.
I've now been with a Sagittarius for a year, and according to books we shouldn't even be near one another, we work great together! It's amazing really. So as far as compatible goes, i think that's based more on maturity.

they are very sweet and I am a pisces saying this. The ones that I personally know are slop a$$es and are faaaaaaaaar from being neat and organized. In fact, I am alot more organized and neat then alot of them that I know. I noticed they do alot of "planning." I'm willing to concede that Virgos do have a tendency to low self-esteem, but I completely fail to see how you've jumped to self-destruction. Earth signs aren't good at socializing and are often very work oriented. They can go unacknowledged and ignored and it can lead to feelings of inadequacy. If you're referring to the nervous tendencies and lack of control that mutable signs tend to have, that would tend to make mutable signs more susceptible to addictions. Mutable signs have a dispersed energy and they can't always draw very firm boundaries and they can loose themselves. Mutable signs have more of a tendency toward addiction, and depression. Self destruction is usually defined as: The VOLUNTARY destruction of something by itself. Mutable signs have more of a SELF-CONTROL issue than a self-destruction issue. I think to be self destructive you need to be of a more emotional and social nature. This extreme emotionality is found predominantly in water and fire types. They depend on others for their sense of self, and cruel world can create a warped and depressing image of ourselves. Earth signs depend of their accomplishments for their sense of self. That can lead to low self esteem, but it takes more than that to become self-destructive. Also, celebrities and especially child celebrities lead very stressful lives so if you're taking examples from messed up hollywood you will not be getting a very good sample right? After Michael Jackson's death one of the boys who claimed to have been molested confessed he lied. Also MJ has a sun moon opposition, so that really isn't a great choice.
