how much did postage stamps cost?

i am doing research and i need to find how much postage stamps have gone up rapidly since 1955. i have found up to1979. Could you help me find prices from 1979-2007?

A 50 cent postage stamp cost 5 cents in 1955 and still costs 50 cents today. The cost of mailing a letter however, is different than the cost of a stamp. In 1955 the first class postage for less than 1 ounce was 3 cents.
