Either (x-5) or (x-6) is = 0.

ie (x-5)x 0 = 0 or 0x(x-6)=0
that implies x-5=0 , x=5
x-6=0 , x=6

so you get x=5 or x=6

x^(2)+5x-6=0 For a polynomial of the form x^(2)+bx+c, locate 2 components of c (-6) that upload as much as b (5). in this problem 6*-a million=-6 and six-a million=5, so insert 6 because of fact the main magnificent hand term of one element and -a million because of fact the main magnificent-hand term of the different element. (x+6)(x-a million)=0 Set each and all of the climate of the left-hand edge of the equation equivalent to 0. x+6=0_x-a million=0 because 6 does not incorporate the variable to remedy for, pass it to the main magnificent-hand edge of the equation by using subtracting 6 from the two facets. x=-6_x-a million=0 Set each and all of the climate of the left-hand edge of the equation equivalent to 0. x=-6_x-a million=0 because -a million does not incorporate the variable to remedy for, pass it to the main magnificent-hand edge of the equation by using including a million to the two facets. x=-6_x=a million the completed answer is the set of the guy ideas. x=-6,a million

C'mon,... look at it and you'll see,...

There are TWO TERMS being "multiplied together".

If ONE OR BOTH IS ZERO THEN THE PRODUCT, (answer) WILL BE ZERO. [ZERO times ANYTHING = ZERO]

Look at the FIRST ONE,...(x - 5), what would you have to "plug in" for "x" to make IT zero?,.... What minus 5 equals zero????
5 !!

Now do the second term yourself,...

TRY TO UNDERSTAND WHAT'S GOING ON AND YOU CAN SOLVE PROBLEMS LIKE THIS ONE IN A FRACTION OF THE TIME IT TOOK YOU TO COME TO THIS FORUM TO ASK FOR THE ANSWER!!!!

If you are not grasping the concepts, get some help. If it's still not clicking, then maybe math ain't your thing,... and that's OK,...
