It's interesting to see how punctuation affects a quote.

I heard this quote live, and it makes sense that way.

Here's how it really went:

"There's an old saying in Tennessee, I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee....... that says, fool me once, shame on....shame on you!!! Fool me twice ..........

(at this point he paused, to let the audience finish the well known saying themselves, for dramatic effect.)

Then he put his fist on the podium, raised his voice and said:

You can't get fooled again!"

And then explained why it was important that we didn't get fooled again.

Isn't it wonderful how things can be taken out of context.

I seem to remember someone voting against something before they voted for it. And another that didn't have sex with that woman.
