I would go with Mr. LeBron simply because of his numbers. Picture the Cavs without LeBron. They would win 20 games. Phoenix still has Amare and all the others have a pretty good player to play with. LeBron has Larry Hughes. LeBron for MVP!!!!!!

Ironically, Nash proved that he should be MVP by getting injured and missing 3 games. The Suns got killed during those 3 games. Without Nash to hold them together the Suns seem to be like the 94-95 GS Warriors with all the talent in the world (Sprewell, Hardaway, Mullin, Donyell Marshall, Gugliotta, Chris Gatling, etc.) and they win 26 games.

That 10 points in the last minute against Dirk and the Mavs last week probably didn't hurt either. Plus, he's very close to the magic 50-40-90 (FG, 3FG, FT) shooting trifecta. Then again, Dirk is already there.

Any other year, it would be a no brainer for either Nash or Dirk, much like Durant and Oden for the #1 pick. Personally I think Dirk'll get it just because Nash has already won twice.

Honestly the only thing Kobe has done is score a lot of points in the last few games. His team is what, 6th in the west? There is know way that he should get it. Yes, he is a great player, and he is valuable to his team, that's all they have.

But if you look at Nash, he can score and pass: plus he is extremely valuable to the Suns.

LeBron...well, he's LeBron [aka: awesome]

Dirk wont get it over Nash, just because of the last game the played against each other.

D-Howard...he hasn't done enough to get it...maybe in a year or two though

Wade had a chance, until the injury, and [god love him] Shaq is doing everything to keep the Heat a contender for the playoffs, and he's doing a really good job, but he wont get MVP b'c people think he's to old.

I think that covers most of it.

To Whoever Says Dirk:

Please. He does the same damn thing every year.

25 pts, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, .7 steals, 1 block, 2 TO's.

What has he done differently this year?? NOTHING.
Now take a look at Josh Howard, and Jason Terry's Numbers compared to last year. Big Improvement. That is why the Mavs are doing better this year.

How can you give an MVP to a sub 90% free throw shooter who biffs two of the free throws to cost the game versus the #2 team? Weak.

Who cares about the record during the season? Nobody. It all matters what happens in the playoffs.

Dirk all the way. 50-40-90 percentages for a guy who shoots the ball a lot. Best player on the best team. I admire everyone on that list, but are you really not going to acknowledge a team's best player when they have at least a four game lead on Phoenix and San Antonio (to this point granted). He averaged almost 5 assists a game as well in the past month. The guy is a beast.

kobe : Love kobe, he makes incredible & unbelievable shots, he dominates, basically does everything, but you cannot be mvp if your teamates are not getting any better, so i say, i dont think so.

nash : damn, he has taked mvp 2 times, i think he deserves another one, but i agree that amare is back so it was not as deserving as last season when he still took the team to the playoffs, but this guy really carries the team and gives them a lot of w's, he brings out the whole offensive rythm in the whol e team, so i think yes he deserves another one.

dirk : i think so too, he really is a good player, but the problem here is that, dirk already has teamates who are willing to win and are good and take game winning shots and dominate, like j howard, terry, stackhouse, d george, d harris. I think mvp awards are supposed to go to players who have teams that people think unlikely of, to either get a good record or make the play offs, so i will have to say no.

j-howard: what did this guy do this year, apart from dunking ?

lebron : this guy came into the league only 3 or 4 yrs ago and he is already carrying his team to playoffs for the second, i would vote him for mvp, but you guys have to know that there is too much competition out there this year, but i think he is an ideal candidate, but i will have to say no.

Hey, what about MCGRADY, he carried the whole team with Yao out with an injury, i am not saying he deserves to be MVP, but he at least deserves to be a sure candidate. have you seen rockets play without mcgrady, its like a freaking joke out there.

its between nash and dirk depending on the remaining regular season games. i like dirk but i think nash has a slight advantage after that epic 2OT win over dallas last week where dirk choked in the end. the lakers and cavs doesnt have a spectacular season even though kobe and lebron has so thats a big factor. dwight howard??? c'mon give me a break ... LOL ....maybe in the future but not this year.

SHAQ follow me here:
he led his team to 8 or 9 wins in 10 games after d-wade's injury, hes at least 35+ years old, he is averaging 17 points per game, he has kind of stayed somewhat healthy, and he is the best center in the game, let alone the best center ever
