you have every right to be mad. any time anyone steps outside the marriage, its wrong. you are dealing with two seperate issues though.

Open marriage is NOT for everyone. and its NEVER for people looking to "Fix" their marriage. any "Swapping" or "Sharing" that coupeks do should be entered into when things are GOOD, and both parties are cool with it, and excitied to try it out. it should never, ever be used as a bandage to heal things, because it won't work.

I don't think an open marriage will fix what is wrong with your marriage. Yes you should be mad that she has been with someone else. I have heard that open marriages are for people that are very secure and already happy with their lives other wise one or both of you will just be using it as an escape out of the marriage.

I don't know of many people that opt for an "open" arrangement for any length of time; usually, it's just a period of "experimentation." It's actually more common than most people realize, but as I say, it's not usually for the long haul. People try things out and then go back to a more normal monogamous relationship.

Screwing around and telling you about it is not the same as an open marriage.

Some people have successful open marriages, but they succeed because the people are in agreement. One forcing it on the other is not an open marriage, it's cheating in the open.

Yes you should be mad and upset about this.... She is cheating and NO open marriages do not usually work. If she cannot stay true to you then move on with your life without her in it.

Will it work? NO. Besides the obvious mental stress this imposes on a marriage, you may now be subject to more than you want if you find a way to have sex with her. You will have to find the root cause of why your relationship has deteriorated. Then find a way to fix it.
