In the average adult human with 206 bones the skeleton comprises approximately 20% of the total body weight.

example-- 20% x 200lbs tbw (total body weight)= 40lbs sw (skeletal weight)

Wrong. The average human body contains slightly less than enough bones to form a human skeleton. There are far more amputees in the world than people with 'too many' bones.

Between 10-15 percent of body weight in a healthy human being. So, for a 180-pound man, between 18-27 pounds.

This actually will depend on when you weigh it. Fresh bone weighs a lot more than dry bone, due to the marrow, grease, and moisture still contained within it. Dry bone will weigh less, and weathered, dry bone will weigh even less (due to leaching of minerals out of the bones, and, to a lesser extent, loss of bone flakes).
