I don't know how fun this will be but if you open some form of tax free savings and investment account at 18 years old and you simply invest $10 a week into it, in 45 years you will have $117K at 6% return or $411K at a 10% return. I am only talking about $10 a week here. If being rich is a long term goal, get your buns to a bank or brokerage firm on your birthday. Would you like the figures at $20 a week??? On your 18th birthday you will want to look back some day and say wow I'm really glad I did that.
One thing is if you have family that is close. Brothers sisters, parents, is to ask that you all go to a movie together, or get a movie have special dinner and cake and ice cream and just spend some quality time together as family as this is the only 18th birthday you will have and who knows where everyone will be next year. Believe me you will look back and say "I wish I would have....." and your family will be in your answer....
