I was reading a web page about polyandry (One wife, multiple
husbands) and i was wondering what people think of this
concept. I think this is a wonderful concept and a great improvement on what one thinks of polygamy in general. One husband with multiple wives is degrading to the Women. But when Women have a harem of their own, it is a sign that we have advanced as a society.

FLICK YEAH!!! My husband sometimes jokes around me with about that! Now I have something to joke around back with him!
Then we could stop calling woman a whore for her sleeping with like three different men. Because only then It wouldent matter anymore. She would be married too all three of them! LOL. And when I say we I mean all of those men that sleep with like 50 woman, and pull a double standard on us!!!!!!!
But I believe in only being with one man my self. Its great for others that have no problem with it!

No it's not a sign we advanced as a society. Polygamy makes some sort of sense (although I wouldn't do that either). One man multiple wives and lots of kids, which is usually why he has so many wives, to have a large family, but one woman, multiple husbands doesn't even make sense to me. What is the point except to sleep around with different men every night? Why marry any of them then?
I'll stick to the marriage I have with one husband and one wife.

No, I don't agree. I think that polyandry is just as degrading as polygamy in that men are the object of someone's sexual desires more than love. I know many centuries ago slaves were kept by queens and princesses just as much as slaves were kept by kings and princes and I am sure a lot of sex was carried on in those days just as today. Of course, today we hear about such things more due to the advent of improved communications. Exploiting men or women for sexual purposes is wrong no matter who does it. A truly advance society is one in which men and women are respected for the fact they are human beings with needs, desires, and lives of their own. Until we as a nation realize that people are to be respected and shown dignity without regard to race, sex, or color of skin then we will be a backward civilization.

Well I think Polygamy is awful. Like no one woman is special for her man. It's too much sharing of intimate things. A relationship should be one on one in my opinion. I honestly don't know why a man would want more than one wife in the first place.... First of all 3 women in one house is torture. Women typically don't get along with each other that well every single day in the same living quarters. Secondly, if one woman is too tough for a man to understand, compound that by three.... it's hard enough to get one man to remember your birthday and get you something special for Valentines Day, could you imagine having a man have to remember all that?
I think he'd want to shoot himself LOL

First of all, marriage in the US is between a man and woman not woman and men or man and women. Those who chose to live that type of life aren't in a marriage, they're in a cult. It's just not healthy or normal to have multiple spouses. I wouldn't consider it a sign that we advanced in society either. I wouldn't want my children knowing that I sleep with different men every week. What kind of morals would you be teaching them?

Bad idea on the base that there are way more women than men in this world. If one woman marries more than one man, it screws the rest of the women in this world even more. Also, keep in mind that women reproduce which is essential for us, humans, surviving. One man, many wives=many children. One woman, many husbands= few children.
I'd say we should just stick with one man, one woman because that is the ultimate best...

Exactly how is that a sign that we have advanced as a society? And, what society is embracing this concept? To me, it's a sign of the feminization of men, that radical feminists have been wishing for, but will never achieve.

Its pretty cool but since woman hate it when men cheats on them by having more than one partner, why should we women do the same to men? Wouldn't it be degrading to men as well?
Honestly, i prefer to have just 1 man. Its far more noble and requires much more commitment.

What consideration would this advanced woman have for the men stupid enough to fall for this. None... Man woman it doesn't matter........wrong. and people wonder what is wrong with kids today.....if raised in this type of invironment its no suprise so many are screwed up.

the way things are going nowadays, the way women collects bf's it is becoming already a norm, i don't like it altho' everything always take time of getting used to!! if this happens then maybe there will be a proliferation of homosexual relationship such as whats happening in prison.
