when I go to suburban schools, it's virtually white but when I go to a city schools, there's nothing but blacks, hispanics, asians and indians.

Why are suburban schools SELF Segregating?
Blacks schools have blacks , hispanics, asians and native americans so it's very diverse.

the public school system is not self segregated. It is done by area. So....if you see mostly all white kids in a particular school, then the zone that school is in is mostly white.
As for inner city schools, then the type of people going there is the same thing, who lives in the inner city?

That is a problem that they are "trying" to fix - the communities are segregated therefore the district will be as well. Plus that is why people move to the sub burbs - to get away from the madness of the city - if you do not have the money to move to a community like that then you are stuck in the school in the district that you live. I think it is a break down of "haves" and "have nots" instead of race.

Schools are basically separated by districts. Most whites tend to want to live around each other. You'll notice that when a lot of minority families move into what is consider a white neighborhood, the for sale signs go up. Also the predominately whites schools are usually the best in te area.

is this another delusion you live under concerning white people and their conspiracy for continued racism? it's unlikely that you've been in many suburban schools, not counting what you see on Degrassi and other degenerate, adolescent programs. i'm white, i go to a mostly white school, and there are many asians it. in the early 80's, many schools were rather diverse, encompassing those of all races. african americans subsequently moved back to the neighborhoods they were used to -- neighborhoods that were mostly african american. there was no grand conspiracy, i assure you.

racism is not nearly as much of a problem as you seem to want it to be. half the questions regarding racism were asked by you -- if you don't want racism to be a problem, why give all this (unintelligible) evidence on the contrary? are you trying to make people act racist to confirm your preconceptions? to give you back the race card (the idea that everything that goes wrong in your life is the result of caucasian ignorance)?

Like others have said, it's simply where you live because each neighborhood is an a specific district and has to go to a specific school. Where I live in FL we have a school of choice plan, so you can go to whatever school you want as long as you can provide your own transportation so I think our schools are pretty diverse.

I got to a "virtually" all white school and i am one of like 5 black kids now the thing is the neighborhood i live in is VERY wealthy and exclusive so i guess it depends does not on your race but on your class ( middle, lower, or upper)

Schools are generally populated by district. If the school district covers alot of poverty area then that would be the case, very diverse. THey are not self segregated and it may "sound" racist or bad but that's just how it is. Welfare is made for minorities so you have a school district in a welfare area thats what happens.

Because usually the city is populated by more blacks and other races than whites, that are typically lower class ,therefore that's why there would be more blacks in city schools.

All white neighbourhoods? If its public its along housing lines. The others need to move into the area????

Thats how I thought it worked after Brown vs the Board of Education.

you just answered your own question. its because you are in the suburbs where mostly white people live in decent neighborhoods. blacks, hispanics, usually don't live in those conditions. its not self racism, its just the location of the school.
