I wanted to get some opinions as to how good a fantasy baseball expert Yahoo's Matt Buser is? For Yahoo Leagues, are his picks great, very good, so-so, not very good, or worthless. Thanks.

Jessica, I didn't find your answer to be of much help. But to everyone else... sage advice. Thanks.

Overall he puts up solid boards. be careful of his lovefest every year for someone that should never be drafted as high as he ranks them but it is a good starting point to develop your draft board 9the lovefest players are obvious). He has a pretty good handle on the sleepers for the most part so consider them later on. The trick is not to follow the board to a T, make a strategy of your own and identify players that could be had later in the draft that could help more so you dont position draft too early in a spot (example...if you cant get Utley then wait until the later part of the draft (14th, 15th rd and pick up someone like Kinsler, he has as much potential as a Brian Roberts and can be picked much further down the board). Consider drafting the weakest positions early, SS and 3rd base the dropoff after the top 5 or 6 at each position is pretty dramatic. Personally I never draft a starting pitcher before the 9th round as there is great depth late and every year 6 or 7 kids break out and can be picked up on the free agent wire (it is a winning strategy, i won 6 of 8 Yahoo leagues last year with a 2nd and 3rd in the other 2). And make sure to snag at least one of the dominating closers in the 4th or 5th round and a couple more later on (there are 3 or 4 great sleeper options to close...do your homework and identify them). Use his board and do some research on the best young talent to draft late (never draft guys that have been in the league a while and put up fringe or worse numbers...they arent going to improve or help you).

Well he is a fantasy expert for a reason.

Just remember use any draft as a guide because they pick based on the best player available while you might need to fill a specific position. Plus, other managers draft kinda funky sometimes so keep your eyes open on who's available, what you need, and what you can trade for another player.

i might trust the guy who pronounced to p.c.. up Chris youthful. he's been recovering for the previous 2 years, pitches interior the main pitcher friendly park interior the league and would deliver the warmth. he will positioned up ok's on a similar time as bringing a marvelous era and WHIP. i might drop Gordon, he's transforming into old and not extremely as powerful. Beckett may be a marvelous determination, he gets wins, yet he pitches at Fenway, a extreme hitters park, so his era will climb. It sounds like on your league there's a marvelous type of pitching to pass around, so no would desire to stockpile Relievers. there is often going to be a servicable guy on the waiver twine, only save a pay attention if Rivera or Wagner pass on the DL.
