the qualifications are low. almost anyone in the country qualifies, as defined by the constitution. we elected Mr. C. twice.
what does that say about the public? (some q&a sessions on his campaign were a joke, and people voted for him anyway-twice!)

Well if you remember back to the first time he was elected, the American people did not feel that he was qualified, therefore he lost the popular vote to Al Gore. He was reelected however because of the ongoing War on Terror that many Americans became caught up in. I don't think many people ever though he was qualified but Republicans knew he could win the presidency because of his name and charisma and therefore managed to serve two terms.

I am not sure anyone is really completely qualified for such a multi-dimensional job. But the economy under Bush has grown better than under any other presidency. We have not suffered from any additional terror attacks since 9/11, though other countries have. And real estate values have escalated to their highest levels in history under his regime. We have seen far worse Presidents in history.

Because he comes from a big rich carpet bagging family. He graduated from Yale and Harvard with barely a C average.

All I know is that GWB was elected by a majority vote but I bet there are those who would disagree

hobo:
you just showed how much you know! He was NOT elected by majority. He was elected by the electoral college..

rtyduful:
charisma? I will just leave that alone.

His qualification was his name & bank account. Not necesarily in that order. "fuzzy math" & an active imagination also helped.
