Absolutely not! They are very strict about this and if you get caught you will get deported and this will most probably be your first and last holiday to the USA. Don't risk it

Absolutely not unless you have a work permit. Suggest you don't run out of money and if you do, have a plan for someone at home to wire transfer you some more via your US friends or get a credit card for emergencies.

Only an "under-the-table" job, i.e. waitressing, buzz-boy, babysitting... That means, finding someone who will agree to hire you without a contract or any other official paper. It's getting more and more difficult to find these kind of jobs, esp. because after Sept. 11th people don't like to hire foreigners without a regular Working VISA or Green Card. Good luck.

If you DO decide to break the rules in the US, be prepared to be barred from further entry in the future if you get caught.

The exact same thing happened to my brother a few years ago - he got caught working at an under-the-table job in Nowheresville, got arrested, questioned then deported and now can't get back into the USA.

Do you know how many illegal immigrants are working in this country? Alot this is a big problem that people complain about in the US, but they are doing all the jobs that no one else wants to do and get paid really cheap.
