We are going to Florida in 10 days, flying to Fort Lauderdale (2 adults, 2 kids 6and 8). We don't have a hotel yet! We have a rental car, so we can travel around but I don't kown where to stay, Fort Lauderdale? Miami? Holywood? Please help me, looking for a nice family place on the beach, no more than $300 a night, are there places to avoid, not safe?

You can find every thing you need at www.ytb.com/awitravel click on Book Travel to research. I like places in North Miami or Ft Lauderdale. South Beach is nice but expensive

Ft. Lauderdale is very nice, and if you are on the beach, it is very safe. Contact the Ft. Lauderdale visitor's bureau online for info on lodging and laces of interest. The hot tourist season is almost over so the prices of lodging will be coming down. I doubt if you will have to spend even $200. per night. You might also contact a local travel agent for a package deal.

Anyplace on the beach will be safe. There are hundreds of hotels between Ft. Laud & Miami Beach. This is spring break, so lower price hotels may be jammed & noisy. Try one of the big hotel sites like Hotels.com for availability & prices.
