I feed Diamond pet foods to my dogs and cats... http://www.diamondpet.com/
As a shameless plug, this is the best pet food I've ever fed my animals and I wish I'd had it 30 years ago. One cat and two dogs have lived full healthy lives on this food alone (no table scraps at all) and never developed a single fatty tumor, never developed any skeletal problem, never had cancer, and were extremely healthy. One of my dogs came from a litter that my cousin had. He had constant problems with the two pups he kept from the litter and they ended up with fatty tumors and cancer problems. I can't say for sure if it was the Diamond that kept my animals healthy, but having litter mates fall to disease while mine didn't was pretty convincing that the Diamond had some impact on the outcome.
My cat lived 18 years and both dogs lived 16+ (my oldest died last year at 20). I currently have two cats and two dogs in the house who exclusively feed on Diamond. My yellow lab/golden retriever cross is 12, my Jack is 1, my two cats (litter mates) are three.
Any feed store will special order in Diamond for you and all my feed stores now carry Diamond on a constant basis due to my requests for special orders.

I just asked a question to this effect.
I'm not sure other than the fact that it's meat sCRAPs broomed off of a floor in squalid conditions, along with the accumulated dirt, and ASHES are added for some reason. And we're supposed to be surprised about the recent pet food recall? The food was somehow contaminated, and causing renal failure? HUH? (heavy sarcasm there)
Again I'm not sure but I'm inclined to agree with you!

No but I know that they have both eaten the food that has been recalled .I know they have not eaten any of it in the last 2 weeks but what about before ?Old Roy with gravy is their favourite. So off to the vet we go.Good thing at least one of them like going to the vet.No symptoms yet so they may be OK.They need their check up and shots anyway.
I think that the dog food industry needs to clean up it's act and this recall will be a good wake up call.

Home cooked recipe:
Cook 1 cup brown rice according to directions 40 min.
about 5 - 10 minutes before rice is done add 2 cups raw processed veggies such as green beans, broccoli, zucchini or spinach.
grill approx. 1 pound of low fat ground chicken or turkey
cut in to small peaces or chop in food processor and mix everything together.
very little salt in the rice is OK, you can also add some dried or fresh parsley. absolutely no garlic, onion or tomato.

NEVER feed a dog cooked meat. It contains all sorts of stuff that can make the dog sicker than if it were eating kibble! Cooked meat has been known to kill dogs.
The raw diet is great though. You can feed the whole chicken, bones and all. Dogs need the nutrients contained in marrow, so a boneless diet out of the question. You need to tailor the raw diet to each individual's needs.
My own dogs get a chicken leg quarter Sunday.
A mix of dairy, veggies, and flax seed Monday.
Another leg quarter Tuesday.
Veggies, flax seed, and a soup bone on Wednesday.
Leg quarter Thursday.
Organ meat and veggies Friday.
Fast on Saturday.

if you read ingredients (even pedigree, purina one, science diet and iams)you will find "meat by-products." that is their way of hiding the fact that they have dog, cat, and horse in the food. Nice to know that our loving pets are cannibals!!!!!!!

I have been told when my dog was sick to use chicken and rice. I have made the rice and put chicken boullion in it. not a bad idea to use while this is all going on with these recalls.
