usually when i have a broken nail where the crack is right above the flesh i paint a thin layer of nailpolish and then i put a tiny snippet of tissue on top of it then push it down so it sticks. Then i let it dry a little and paint another layer of nailpolish on top of that. There! mini nail cast! Then i just wait for it to grow a little more so i can clip it safely. You may have to reapply the little cast as the days go by though.

you can use nail glue or even super glue. You apply the glue around and on the tear. Wait 5 minutes or so for the glue to completely dry before putting on socks or shoes.
