Coincidence. Because I would want to be either a physicist, astronomer (which kind of goes together) or a scientist of some sort. And I'm a scorpio.
Now, being a kind-of professional astrologer, I can explain this by saying my mercury is conjunct to my uranus, and that uranus is the ruler of my third house; the house of the mind and speech, the ruling planet of that is mercury. And both mercury and uranus are in the first house - the house of the self. So all in all, all this means that I think and act a lot like an aquarius.
BUT no one ever believes in that, so I suppose it would just be a lousy excuse, right? Strange, though, how coincidence has it that I have that combo in my chart and happen to act a lot like an aquarius... hmmm...
For all who haven't noticed; I was being VERY sarcastic. But that was mostly directed to those people who prefer to have a very strong disbelief in astrology and won't shut up until everyone has their disbelief... whether they're right or wrong. (typical taurus trait, by the way, not that everyone born as taurus has that trait...)
The feeling you get when looking up in the sky is not loneliness, it's realising that you're only a very very very tiny human being, compared to all those stars out there and infinite space... it makes you feel small and that feeling is what makes you lonely and makes you think of all those memories... those are your minds way to make you feel less unimportant.
I would say astronomy is the perfect job for aquarius in general (not to be mistaken for anyone born in that sign... see my above sarcy rantings... ) and it is a nice career. So would physics be. Go for it!

I'm an Aquarian and a scientist (of sorts). When I was young I did dream of being an Astronomer but that was because I wanted to travel in space. As I got older and realized that I wasn't going to be able to visit any of those stars, I decided to study Physics instead. I eventually ended up designing computer programs for missiles and the like.
I don't put a lot of stock in Horoscopes but I believe people should follow their dreams and not be afraid to change those dreams as they learn.

I wanted to be an astronomer, but I couldn't get past the math. I have a math block or something.... :) Good luck to you! (BTW-my husband is Aquarius, and anything technical is appealing to him. He's happier than he's ever been at work and he's an electrician.)

That was one of the things I wanted to be, I settled on interpreter/translator and started college. At 41, I'm proud to be known as a .... carer. Talking of which, I have to get my uniform on, I have to be off for my shift in half an hour.

Yes, I love astronomy. Go for it!
However, ignore astrology (horoscopes). It is a load of crap.
