is it me but i don't find Ricky gervaise one bit funny?

Emperors new clothes of comedy, people laugh because they think its cool and not because they think its funny. Little Britain is of the same ilk.

I could never stand watching him when the Office came out but then I really got into Extras and both Extras series 1 and 2 have been good. But I think he is funny only in context. When he's not acting in these type of shows and there aren't other actors for him to bounce off (especially the celebrities) then it doesn't work because he comes off looking very arrogant. I think he is a good writer because he's original and takes risks, I also think he can act quite well because he's not afraid of playing characters that are horrible. I just think he's better playing a fiction character that is horrible than playing himself being horrible like he did at Comic Relief - because most people equate that attitude to him then.

1000 % on the nail mate I think exactly as you do . What is funny about this guy or that junk so called comedy show Office.
If you really look at his eyes he still looks in shock as to why anyone on this planet finds him in the least bit funny.
I think he is an insincere creep just like he showed the world on Red nose Day .Did you see that Sketch I bet that was about 100% true as well

nor me mate,just a bbc unfunny comic like victor meldrew and numerous others before them even del boy was not very funny, but corny bbc humour is hyped up into cult status by people who want to be "hip" or in with the crowd and are afraid of being ridiculed for shouting out NOT FUNNY but boring corny slot filling rubbish.

I found him brilliant in 'the office' but that was more cringe making than funny. I think he stinks at stand up..too much like David Brent for my liking

he's not that funny - all he did in the office was actually point out what some management are really like. they are in the position but can't really do the job over paid monkeys. and he is and over paid monkey as well.

I totally agree with you. When The Office came out everyone in my office was talking about it and how hilarious it was and what a genius the guy is, and I'm like, 'I totally don't get it - he's crap!
