The best place to find *authentic* sources of information on the novel is at a library. Depending on your library of course, you may have access to some great online databases. These databases are often subject-based. Find one for literature, type in a few words, and you'll have a long list of both online and in print sources of information. In case you don't have access to literary databases try searching your online catalog (and/or Amazon and/or WorldCat) for books on "Their Eyes Were Watching God" there are many, many books that have been published that focus on analyzing every little thing in the novel. It may be possible to interlibrary loan the books or articles you need.
