Okay this is been bugging me for ages, Where is capital city? Is it washington D.C or is another place. Im from London, so i dnt have a clue

Washington, DC is the capital of the United States and coincidentally it is not even a state. (It is adjacent to but not in Maryland)

You are correct the national Capital is Washington D.C. Each of the states also has a capital for their state government.

It's not called Capital City - except in the Simpson's! When they went to what they called 'Capital City' it looked like New York, but the capital is actually Washington, which is in the District of Columbia (DC) and nothing to do with the state called Washington. Very confusing for us non-Americans.

I always wondered the same thing. I mean in most countries the capital cities have names. Dublin London etc. But the name of the capital city is capital city? weird

Yes it is the capital of the US. But then also each state also has a capital city of that state! E.g Denver - capital of Colorado, Boston - capital of Massachusetts.
