Why do people always try to fit me into a box? I know where I belong; but I hate when people try to tell me I'm this or that. I'm confident in who I am. Anyway, here's a couple examples of what I'm talking about.
"You're a girl; your favorite color is pink right?" "Why don't you wear make up or dresses; why aren't you tidy?"
Can someone please tell me why people are trying to force me into a box that I don't want to be in?

I'm NOT a lesbian! If I was, I wouldn't care.

People justify their own beliefs or sterotypes when they try to force their will on you. Our society should have basic rules, no kill rule is a good one to start, love thy neighbour another good one, you know to live a healthy happy life and help others along the way. People feel more secure with rules and regulations. As we mature all of us we realize there is no fear in individuality. It should be encouraged again within reason. As long as you are not hurting anyone you are all ok.

Don't worry about those boxes.
There is only one box anyone should ever worry about - the one that you get at the end of your life - a coffin.
I heard a rhyme many years ago:
"If that ship of yours is floundering
and is dashed upon the rocks
and they have you over a barrel -
just be glad they don't have you in a box"

because even it this day and age people are still gender stereotyping. Some have a hard time accepting a woman for who she is, feel sorry for those people because they are in a box of narrow mindedness.

Because they don't like the box that they are in and they want you to feel as uncomfortable in a box of your own.

People always try to put other people in boxes because it makes them feel secure...
If you can name something you "know" it...
Just let them talk and do your own thing...

Because of people are people!
Everyone has gone through that and it still happens!
Whenever my co-workers at my last job wanted to order pizza or something, they start talking about chicken wings and automatically assume that because of I am black I eat chicken! and I am vegetarian!
just ignore them, only dumb people assume things about people by looking at them, not based on their character and actions.

Because people are scared of things that are different. Just be you and screw them. You can be a girl and like football and have your favorite color be black.
