Why does the vice president want people to think that her brother, Terrence Steadman died? I don't really get the political part, it would be nice if someone filled me in. Thank you

It was part of some sort of corporate type of Enron scheme. Some company that the VP's brother was involved in he bilked it for millions so they had to make it look like he was gone. I am guessing you haven't watched most of this season 2 because there is a plot change with the brother but I won't spoil it for you.

it has something to do with the company which lincoln's dad got involved with...i guess it's somekind of conspiracy or something..
