I have been married for 7 months. Our relationship was rocky during prior to marriage but we worked through things and they got better. About 5 months after we got married, I began to feel like I had made a mistake. We were arguing a lot about everything. He went out of town one weekend and I cheated on him. For the moment, it made me feel better but now I know that I made a mistake. I do not want to tell my husband because I know that it will make matters worse. I have learned a valuable lesson from what I did. I don't fully regret cheating because it has taught me that I can be happy where I am and that I can make things work. I just wish I had figured that out before I went to that distance. So my question is, what should I do? Am I wrong for not wanting to tell my husband?

For God sake, do not tell your husband, and shame on you for doing such a thing, Just because things are perfect in a relationship doesn't give you the right to have sexual encounters wtih other men. You are feeling guilty of your actions and you should!. If you have a problem and you are arguing cheating is not the answer, but getting help is.. try marriage counseling. Anything can be worked out, except for cheating, tell me this.. how would you feel if you found out that your husband had an affair on you, during one of your fights? What would you do and how would you react? I believe in honesty, but somethings should just be laid to rest. and that my friend is one of them.

Yes i feel you should tell your husband that you cheated. He has the right to know and you should be honest with him about it. No matter how you look at it you were wrong for cheating on him and you should ask him to forgive you for doing so. I also suggest marriage counseling for the both of you to help with the marraige problems and issues that you have. Honesty is the best policy here hon.

No, you are not wrong. If you learned your lesson and won't do it again, telling him will only jeopardize the very thing you want to save, your marriage. Let it be your secret that you can go back to if the temptation ever happens again. You can think back about what you already did and how it didn't help you.
I have also heard that men are less forgiving of extra marital affairs than most women.

I think by telling him the truth you will ruin the marriage. I wouldn't forgive you if I was in your husband's shoes. So why make the matter worse by telling him? You will feel guilty for the rest of your life but hey good news is your husband don't need to know.

HEAVENS NO! By all means, do NOT tell your husband.
What will it accomplish ---- nothing good, that's for sure. So why -- to make you feel better? Forget it --- it's not going to happen --- it will make you feel worse, MUCH WORSE. Most men will tell you in such a situation they would rather not be told -- do him and yourself a favor and keep it to yourself. Like you said you learned from it so forget it and move on. By the way, you don't know what he was doing when he was away for the weekend, either. Good luck/

Normally I would say you must not keep anything from your hubby but I think maybe this is the exception. First off is there any chance someone would tell him? If there is even the slightest chance then it's best to come from you. If not then maybe you should not say anything and work really hard to make your marriage work and NEVER EVER do that again. It is not good that you cheated. You wouldnt want him to do the same would you? I think as time goes by this will bother you even more then it does right now. It will eat at you that you were dishonest. ut in telling him you have to be prepared for him to leave you. Cheating didnt solve your problem it made it more complex.

Of course you don't want to tell him, but if your marriage is going to have a chance you need to. Look into counseling - something has to change or you'll just keep cheating and that's not right.
