Yes I have 2 baby girls, and their heartbeats ranged from 150-170s, my niece had a baby boy around the time my first daughter was born and his heart rate ranged in the 120s-140s..I would just about be willing to bet on it that your having a baby girl...congradulations...and enjoy they are a blessing..btw someone wrote up there that their baby is a boy his heart rate was fast when she was 2 months everyone knows that all babies heart rates are fast in the first couple of months, it is what their heart rate is when you are around 4 and 5 months pregnant that determines the true rate...

I have two boys, one had a slower heartbeat in the 130's the other 165-170 so you never know! And if you have an active baby the heartbeat will always be a little more elevated! But if you are wishing for a Little Girl Best Of Luck!

Not true. When I first heard my son's heartbeat it was 169 and that was at 8 weeks pregnant. I'm now 24 weeks pregnant and his heart has slowed a bit but it was really fast for a long time and he's a boy!

They say it's generally true, but not 100%. I have 2 girls and 1 boy...both girls had faster heartbeats in utero than my little goy did. Currently, i'm 22 wks. preg. w/#4, whom we found out is another girl, and her heart rate is also on the high side! Look at it this way, until you have an ultrasound, there's a 50/50 chance it's a girl! :) Good luck!

I believe that is an old wives tale. While girls tend to run a bit higher than boys, my daughter was at a consistant 152 through my pregnancy. So don't get your hopes up too high, just enjoy that you have a healthy baby growing there with a good strong heart! Congrats!

The myth is if the heart rate is 120-140, then it's a boy, and 140-160 is a girl. But it is just that - a myth. I recently researched this. It is true for babies just after birth because girls hearts beat much faster during delivery, but it is not true for fetal heart rates.

That's the old wives tale...of course doctors will tell you that a baby's heart rate changes like ours does...if they're active it's faster......my baby's heart rate was a bit fast at week 20, & it turned out to be a girl....50/50 shot though...& it could still be wrong....the scan is only 95% accurate :)
