The doctor has said that the pregnancy is fine so he must think that the brown discharge is nothing to worry about. It may be occurring at the time your period would have been happening. Just keep a check on it and if you are still worried go back to the doctor and discuss this further.

Hi, i just want to let you know I'm in the exact same position as you, i started spotting at 6 weeks and I'm now 9-10 weeks and the spotting has turned into brown discharge, I've had a scan and the same as you everything is normal, my GP said that every pregnancy is different and this maybe just normal for my pregnancy, if everything appears normal then try not to worry take every new day as a blessing and enjoy the experience.Good luck x

I agree with Shannon C - if your scan was internal (and at 6 wks I would imagine so) you will be having a little bleeding because of that. There is a lot more blood flowing to the area because of the pregnancy hormones which would make you bleed more easily. The discharge is brown because the blood is older - if you were losing fresh, red blood then go to your doc.

My sis recently had a baby...it was her first and she was 35 yrs old...the doctors were telling her the whole time not to get her hopes up because she was also having discharge throughout the entire pregnancy...well she made it through and had a healthy but premature baby...I think that as long as you trust your doc and he thinks everything is fine...dont worry too much...im sure the stress of worrying cant be that healthy for the baby...
look at it this way, if it was not meant for you to have this baby no ammount of worying will change that...so why not just take it easy and enjoy the pregnancy...

Congratulations on your pregnancy!
Maybe you have old blood left from the last period and it is coming out with discharge.
This happens to a number of ladies and should stop eventually. There's nothing you should be worried about, however, if the blood becomes bright red contact your hospital immediately.
In the mean time, try to stay relaxed and happy.
Good Luck!

Have faith in the doctor. You've done exactly the right thing, you weren't sure so you've had it checked out and he's told you everything's OK, so everything's OK. Sometimes women do get some discharge in the early stages. It's natural for you to be especially concerned but it's all all right.

i bled alot during my last pregnancy but mine was ectopic. i dont think yours is, i've discovered after reading so many articles on miscarriage, that bleeding during early pregnancy is quite normal.
if you're not getting any pain, it's just hormones adjusting. some women have a "period" every month. if the scan is fine, dont worry!! my baby wasn't seen on any scan, even though i was 12 weeks pregnmant.

Well, if you had an internal scan, right there is your reason, there was probably some irritation and it is just some old blood, if that is not what you had, I would give the doc a call to be sure he does not want to check on you. GOOD LUCK!!
