If a child has a lazy eye and doesn't use it, he'll eventually lose sight in that eye. However, if he is forced to use it, the muscles are strengthened and he learns to see better. Eye exercises are prescribed so the child can learn to use the eyes together. With only one eye, you can't judge distance. Exercises to learn to use the eyes together might include playing Jacks, stringing beads, or tracing blue lines on a red picture while using special glasses. While it's much preferred that a child use the eyes together, sometimes they don't, and the ability to see with the weak eye goes away from non-use. But, if the vision is ever lost in the good eye, the vision in the weak eye can be brought back to where it was as a child! When they suggested surgery for my daughter who had lazy eye, to correct the muscle imbalance, I didn't go back because they hadn't talked about that with my son who was 8 years older and I didn't realize this could have been helpful.

I think one month is too short. And if you are not giving adequate rest to your eyes, you may not get the optimum results. I have not tried the technique myself (I am comfortable with glasses) but knew a gentleman who tried and found good results.
