Oh no. Don't take a drill to a mirror. You'll probably send cracks all around.
When drilling into glass or ceramic, there is a special bit to use and a lubricating oil. You drill straight down and very slowly so as not to build up heat, but those bits are probably 3/8" or better.
Go to Lowe's and buy some mirror clips and/or adhesive. That will secure the mirror and you won't be risking damage to it. Good luck.

I think you should purchase 4 mirror hangers and forget the drilling. These go up with screws and hold the mirror close to the wall. Good luck!!!

You can buy glass drill bits. I like to make a "dam" out of putty or clay and fill it with denatured alcohol to help keep the bit cool. I have also added some salt to give more abrasion. Try hardware stores or Big Box stores for the bits.
