Live life to the maximum. Learn new hobbies or skills possible, love like you have never been hurt, sing like nobody is listening to you, earn like you dont need the money, dance as if nobody is watching you, give more and expect less, try to change what you can, accept what you cannot, help someone in need, visit the sick so you know the value of your good health, watch a movie which you have always wanted, eat just what is sufficient for you and exercise regularly - so that you dont get unwanted sicknesses, have a good night's sleep. Visit the prisoners so you know what freedom you are enjoying. Do whatever is possible. You have only one life - Enjoy it.

In order to define life, we need to analyse how living being differs from the inanimate. My take as a layman is as follows
Life is the awareness or conscious that is capable of generating thoughts and actions of its own.

To the Philosopher it is a delicious and magical labryinth of mystery. To the Axe-murderer it is something to be taken and literally devoured like so much meat. To the child, it is them, their feelings, their thoughts, themselves and no one else. To a tree, life is a quiet almost thoughtful process of growth passing from one season into the next and watching the white tail dear peel away your own skin. To the victim of abuse, it is the scariest journey they have ever experienced and most simply choose not to survive it.. as giving up this thing called life.. is so much easier. So, as you can see... Life.. is different for each entity.

Life in a biological sense is tricky because people can be kept alive on heart/lung machines and other aids. What if the brain is dead? That's a tough one.
I do know the purpose of life, though.
To know God and to love God and to one day be happy with Him in Heaven.
