The '87 325i (E30) should have been a economical and reliable car. The 94-99 (E36)should be as well. Make sure you get a car with a known history and read all the manuals. Stay away from automatic transmissions if you can. Look for under 100k miles and understand you're getting a $30-40 car for 1/3 to 1/4 price. If you want it to run like new, replace what wears out - when it wears out. Budget $1000 for first year maintenance to make it the way it should be. They are easy for DIYing almost all repairs.

I know alot of people think that VW's are girls cars but if you haven't driven a 99-05 model Jetta you should. I recently got one and have driven BMW 3 series cars too the fit and finish is very similar, it still has that european feel (because it is German) it holds the road awesome, it's peppy, and comes with the same features, heated leather, sunroof, steering wheel radio controls, awesome Monsoon stereo, all the european stuff and the car has that classic european boxy look I think if you haven't driven one you will be pleasantly surprised. The best part is you are bascially getting a car that feels just like a Bimmer but at a lot less money, instead of a 94-99 Bimmer you can get a 01-05 Jetta loaded for under $10K just give it a shot, I love mine! Make sure to look at a GLS, GLX, or GLI those are the more top end models, the GL is kind of basic.

you have some a leaky or placing out to fail gasoline injector. On 0ne of the boards I checked, somebody suggested BMW's run wealthy at startup, then lean out to a typical mixture after the engine starts off up. So in case you have one marginal injector, it must be dumping too plenty gasoline into the cylinder, making it hard to start while chilly. After the engine warms up, the engine laptop reads the temperature and could not might desire to offer a wealthy mixture. Get a bottle of Chevron Techron gasoline injector air purifier at an motor vehicle areas shop. next time you want a fill-up, pour the bottle into the close to drain gasoline tank, then fill the tank with gasoline. Techron is a huge gasoline gadget air purifier and it will do a reliable interest to get rid of any gasoline deposits or varnish interior the undesirable gasoline injector. See if that does the trick. you could desire to repeat a 2nd time. you additionally can take your automobile to save that could do a pressurized gasoline gadget cleansing - they'll inject a extreme potential solvent without postpone into the gasoline injector rail and in certainty do a similar element because of fact the Techron, yet at an stronger stress. you besides mght might desire to take your automobile to a save that could get carry of ('pull') any fault codes from the engine laptop. There could be a number of of fault codes saved interior the memory which will provide extra clues if yet another merchandise desires to be checked.

BMWs have a GREAT reputation; great reliability; great service; and great cars. I would get it if I was in your situation. It would probably be the best fit.

If you find that you dont want it, try a Lexus alternative or a Mercedes alternative. All of these are GREAT cars. Lexus probably has the BEST service of all of these three companies. Porche and Mazarati are great too, but they are really expensive. They are the BEST or the BEST cars out there in the market today.

Thanks for asking! Hope this helps. =)
