As a predator, lions mostly consume buffalo, gnu, zebras and antelope. However, they've been known to settle for smaller animals and sometimes even fruit.

No they DON'T like to eat humans, we just happen to be in their territory. i have studied lions in the wild for many years now, and what i figured out that they like wildebeest, zebras, and the young like to hunt birds ( for fun).

a red meat component to it, a lioness or a lion is an
opportunist and when they need to eat they will
take any prey out there, including humans, if they
come into to close a proximity to them..................

wildebeest also called gnu's. they are also keen on zebra and young buffalo. they have to hunt these larger animals to feed their pride.
