I am asking about this because the sister of my husband is the one holding my husband finances. I don't question it, because I am not that interested because I am working also, and besides he is a good provider. It just made me wonder sometime, I don't know what is going on in his finances.. I dont want to sound like I am interested but I just wanted to know. Its this thing I should worry about?

When I was married, we had ONE account. Even though I was the ONLY contributor to the finances, we still paid everything out of that one account. After all, we were a family. Her needs were just as important as mine, and her name was on the checking account just like mine....she had the same rights as I did to spend the money. Is that NOT what marriage is? Equals??

Our finances are joint.
Our paychecks both go into our common account. Bills are paid out of it. I personally keep track of it, but none of it is hidden. If she wants to know the status all she has to do is ask.
We each have our own personal retirements through our employers, but we are eachother's beneficiaries.
Generally, in America the marital assets are considered joint. They cannot legally hide assets from each other, unless they have a contract to the contrary.
I manage the money only because I am better at it. She used to do it but she would make mistakes sometimes and we'd have problems. I manage it - I don't "control" it. If I tell her she can't spend money on something, it's because there is none to spend, not because I control her.

Good question. We are of the mind to co mingle all our funds. My wife has a son from a previous marriage. I make more money as she only works part time. Plus I came to the relationship with some solid savings. We save together now we pay bills from the same accounts and all monies are deposited together. Some folks I am sure split things up. I hate divisions in any aspect of my life with the person I love.

Generally a couple has a joint account but some prefer separate. Legally a wife does have a right to know their financial standing.

There is an ultimate answer to this that I discovered with husband #3.. We have 3 accounts. 1 is a joint account that we place our money in to pay joint bills....mortgage, utilities, food, etc. We figure out each year after raises and such what percent of the total household income we both bring in and then we pay our percent of the "house" bills.
He and I also have separate accounts for our individual fun money or for bills we brought with us to the relationship.

My husband works - I stay at home but do earn a modest income at home. We have joint accounts and share all the money. I handle the finances, pay the bills, etc. We both know how much money comes in, how much goes out and where it goes.

My wife controls all the finances. My check is direct-deposited into our joint checking account and she does the rest.

They should share that information just as if the marriage is a partnership no different than if it were two companies. Both need to know.

Good query. A gutless liberal dhimmi POS who's allied with the Muslim Brotherhood Jihadist group - that is who! Islamic militant foxes have been guarding the American henhouse and whilst the assault started, they ran away.
