It wasn't weird...it wasn't a great episode..but it was a good one...it was also a basis for the first movie: Star Trek: The Motion Picture.....
Kirk knows how to defeat the robot and he figured it all out....with the help of Spock and McCoy...

Ok...Nomad was destroying everything that was not perfect. If it was flawed, it was destroyed. Nomad thought Captain Kirk was some other guy named Kirk, who helped build Nomad. When Captain Kirk pointed out the fact to Nomad, that Nomad had made a mistake in thinking the Captain Kirk was the other guy, Captain Kirk said to Nomad "Now that you know you have made a mistake, and that you are not perfect, you must destroy yourself too." The original episode was fine and somewhat unique, but they took the same idea, changed the name of Nomad to Voyager and made a big screen movie out of it that was lame.
I would destroy it by placing a FORD emblem on it. Guaranteed to stop running

It was a good episode. I would confuse the nomad and then electricute the nomad and transport it out into space. Then shoot it with a photontorpido. LOL =)
