Woke up this morning and the microphone icon was not in the Systems tray?

And I cannot gt my music to play. I used it up to yesterday and nobody else has been around my computer. What's happening, and how do I get back up to speed?

Went into the Control Panel and got the sound up, but the Volume Icon is still not in the taskbar, although the tick is on, indicating that it is.

Start/Control Panel/ sound and audio devices
click Place Volume Control in taskbar.
and check other settings.

Reboot, or reinstall the drivers

Reboot is the first thing to do. Should fix it.
