They're just trying to pull you in. I've been there and done that. The quickest way to avoid this is to check for fine print or an asterisk. If you find one of those, the download is NOT free at all.

Cause somewhere on the page the word free exists, or got added as a tag when they listed the page - doesn't mean anything on there is free at all.
