Yeah, that happens when we get older. Exercise is the best way to jumpstart your metabolism. Get off the sweets and try more whole grain snacks instead or some sugar free candy to satisfy your sweet tooth. I enjoy riding bikes and walking with my kids or one of my dogs. Gardening is what I enjoy most and I get alot of exercise doing it. Sex is helpful too!

Try to stick to a well-balanced diet. No matter what your body needs a bit of everything to stay and look healthy.
Exercise especially cardiovascular exercise you could do but you really can't do it all the time so think its the little things you can do that would raise your metabolic rate and keep it that way. Like taking the stairs instead of the lift or escalators. Always choosing to sit up rather then lie down, like on the couch.
Uhmm, walking to places instead of taking the bus or car oh and if you can walk fast (i do that, and works!) that would be great! You also save money too.
Exercising can get a bit boring after a while so try picking up a hobby that would be fun same time a little workout, maybe with a friend. Dansing, swimming, I'm sure you can find something.
Just keep busy!

Who doesn't like sweet foods, I sure do, along with a host of other bad foods. But i try and eat them in moderation, eating a lot of sweets is not good only for your health its bad for your teeth as well. If you eat more fruits and vegetables and drink alot of water switch to leaner meats and switch your white breads to wheat breads, having a piece of cake every once in awhile will not hurt you. A good way to up your metabolism is to add a B6 vitamin, it helps boost your energy and metabolism. Or if you would rather i would try and find a safe diet pill that doesn't have a lot of caffeine in it, that could give you cold chills and the shakes if you wind up taking to much of the ones with caffeine. You can not cut out your favorite foods when on a diet because limiting yourself of all them can make your diet more likely to fail. Good Luck!

Ive found the best way is to eat small regular meals throughout the day. if your having long breaks when your body isn't getting food, then when it does get food it says "hey I'm not getting anything for a while so I'm going to hang onto this and not burn it off" i eat every 2 hours, but sweet stuffs not going to help.try some dryed fruit, sweet but not fatty. also skipping is the easiest exercise to do and just a few 1 minute rounds a day will get the weight off.. you've got to eat to loose weight, if that makes sense..

Work out, get your blood pumping. If you do some cardiovascular activity it will build your metabolism up and make it faster. Eat healthier and eat less sweets!

I agree with all the previous advice. However it would not harm if you saw an endocrinologist and had your thyroid function checked. Its a very easy and simple procedure whereby the level of your various thyroid hormones are determined through a nuclear source.
