Either, or.

The truth is, neither is more emotional. Men and women both have the same exact emotions. Both are relatively equal in terms of "having" emotions.

It's the outward display of emotions that you're referring to. In which case, men tend to be more closed off most of the time, while women tend to be more open with thier emotions on a regular basis.

However, men are more likely to delve into a huge emotional outburst than a woman, largely due to the fact that men tend to keep emotions bottled inside for much longer. Not always, but typically.

Men also tend to have a more practical look on life than women do, while women take a more heartfelt approach to life. Women certainly succumb to their "feelings" and gut instinct moreso and more often than men do, while men tend to be a little more logical in their approach to daily situations.

For simple day to day drudgery, men will show less emotion in regards to emotions that are socially considered "soft", such as sadness. However, they're more likely than a woman to become angered, as this is a socially acceptable male emotion.

Women are more prone to cry openly, even in front of people. As a man it becomes clear at an early age that crying really isn't quite "ok", or that it's a symbol of weakness. For a woman, crying is more of a way of letting out pain, and allowing others to see their pain. Subconciously it might be said that crying is a means of asking for help. Babies cry when they need something. It's really no different for adults. The difference being when babies cry it's because they have a dirty diaper, and when adults cry it's because they're seeking some sort of emotional help.

The simple answer is: Neither. Men and women just show emotion and react to situations differently. When people talk about emotions they usually mean "Sadness" or "Upset". They forget that happiness and anger and any other emotions you might be able to think of, are also emotions, all shown differently by different genders, and then again shown differently from one person to the next.

I've known women as stern as steel, and I've known men who broke down and cried simply because someone was yelling at them. It's all perspective, it's all in the upbringing, and it's all in what the individual person has learned to show, and to hide....and that, is largely determined by society.

At least, that's my take on it :)

We're equally emotional. It just differs in the way we express.

Men tend to hide everything because there's still this pride that men shouldn't cry.

While females choose to express it with tears; well, it's sorta like seeking attention (in a way) to receive comfort from people.

Both are emotional, expressed differently.

This depends on the person. I know many emotional men but they are in private. Women aren't afraid to be emotional in front of others but if a man is, it is looked at, at being unmasculine and weird......so I do believe there is an equal balance of emotions between men and women...just some women aren't scared to show thier emotions to others as oppose to men.

It depends on what you are talking about. Because men can be emotional like women in certain aspects like his responsibility over the family.

The thing that makes me believe that women are more 'emotional' than men is that they are mostly good at taking care of their closed ones with softness than men.

Women are more externally emotional. Men are more internally emotional and tend not to express their emotions.

The only reason why women are more emotional is NOT hormones but society urges them to be like that.

My fiance is more emotional than me, he says he has to pull my emotions from me kicking and screaming. Emotions are not a gender issue - who is better at HIDING them? My vote goes to men....
