Do you mean, should you have a part time job while you are a student? I think it is something that needs to be handled very carefully.
A job for maybe 10 to 15 hours a week can help you earn a little extra without conflicting with your focus as a student. It can also provide some structure that might help you manage your time more effectively.
But if you are a full time student and you are also working 25 or more hours a week, too often it is detrimental to your goals of achieving a good education.
It is frustrating to see students fall asleep in class because they were working most of the night, or to see them doing average work when I know they are capable of excellent work if they just had the time.
You make choices and you do what you have to do for economic survival. But if you can limit your work schedule so it doesn't impact your ability to be a student, that is the best way to go.
