Nooooooooooo... I'm doing a 2 year Beauty course at college at the moment and after I finish that I'm going to uni to do an HND in Beauty Therapy. Waxing is a skill you need to learn and practice and no salon will employ you in all you can do is wax. They are after all rounder therapists who are good at everything.

It depends. If waxing would be the only service you have to offer, you won't get anywhere. A good stylist working in a beauty parlour must have a hole bunch of qualifications, otherwise the shop would need to hire an army of staff to to manicure, pedicure, waxing, tanning, massaging etc.

Most of the staff can do lots of different things.

A one day course wouldn't qualify anyone to touch me with wax. You can do serious damage if you don't know what you are doing. Skip the one day and call around to some cosmetology schools if you really want to learn waxing. A one day "course" sounds more like continuing ed to me. ***If you call some schools ask what your state REQUIRES. There are laws governing almost all aspects of cosmetology and the laws can differ widely from state to state.

A one day course will just be an insight in to it... you wont get any qualification that is worth anything.
There are plenty of beauty course that you can do at collage. part time ones.
If its what you want to do then go for it.
When you have been fully trained then you should be able to find a salon that will take you on.

A one day course?? Sounds unlikely if not extremely dangerous. I wouldn't let you anywhere near me after a one day course and I can't imagine that any reputable salon would touch you with a bargepole.

an even better idea you could start up your own business travelling round peoples homes and waxing them..you'd make a killing from hen and wedding parties and especially from people who are too shy to go to a salon to get waxed or busy people who dont have the time....you could jus make up business cards saying:

Kim S
Professional Epilator
*insert phone number*

and then distribute them round your neighbourhood through peoples letterboxes and on car windscreens

good luck!

you can rent spaces in salons , but if you have space at home alot of people prefer the privacy of this .. and great money spinner
