That would depend upon whether it was more important to save time (top loader) or water (front loader). Front loaders - especially those with good water efficiency - generally take at least twice as long to do a load as it would in a top loader.

My personal preference is a front loader as they use far less water, and wash the clothes far better than a top loader.

Hope this helps!

Heh I'm not a woman but I do an awful lot of laundry.

I would prefer using the front loading ones. The reason being they're more energy efficient, and when you wash between 5-8 loads per week, that all adds up, so I'd save a bundle.

Plus the new front load ones have a ton of features and look snazzy.

Personally I like front loaders they seem to do a better wash, so it would be the front loader if I was washing clothes for people

Front

I use less laundry detergent per load, and do at least a 50% larger load per wash, compared to my old top loader.

Front load...it is more economical because it uses less water and less detergent and you can put more clothes in it......BONUS it saves you a trip to the laundromat when it comes time to wash your big/bulky comforters.
