Starting about 20 years ago the political debate changed, attack ads proliferated, personal destruction of your opponents became the norm. In the last two elections things seemed to some degree to moderate but now it is coming on strong again. Obama and Edwards are going to get screwed beyond belief.

Do you support this type of politics? Do you want this from those who seek to be President?

no, those things are stupid. i never listen to such crap, i have not even watched Farenheit or any such movie.
i think that the parties (in any country) are supposed to show their programs and try to convince the ppl about the appropriateness of their program and they should not make their opponent seem like a lame stupid moron...
but the problem is the politians try to win by affecting our emoitions and not the common sense.... soo sad!

Maybe you think history started the day you born.

Jefferson, Lincoln, and Adams would wonder at the kid-glove treatment received by today's politicians.

BTW, Edwards has pretty much screwed himself.

Hypocrites usually do.

It is beyond chutzpah to run as the standard bearer of the downtrodden months after moving into the largest house ever built in North Carolina.

All the demagoguery of Huey Long with none of the authenticity.

No, because it shows that they are as immature as the common American. Someone we elect to be President should be better than the common American, and rise above personal attacks just to gain publicity.

No, but it's the only way Republicans can elect their candidates! In order to end this sort of thing, one of three things will have to happen:
We go to a one-party system.
Another party rises up.
The Republicans return to being the decent, viable, pro- American, pro-people political party they once were before the neocons took over.
